Answer |
What is it? |
Aridion™ is the trademark name of our liquid repellent nano-coating technology for the Electronics sector. Working with major electronics brands and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), the Aridion™ coating is applied uniquely to finished products as well as components; invisibly protecting them from the effects of water and other liquids. |
What does it do? |
Aridion™ transforms the reliability of electronic devices. On treated surfaces, liquids will wash over the product rather than stick to the surfaces causing damage. This means a reduction in water ingress, corrosion, electrochemical migration and phone malfunction. |
Does it affect the electronics/mic? |
Aridion™ is applied to millions of electronic devices worldwide including phones, tablets, hearing aids and even stand-alone microphones. The coating has no effect on the electronics, microphones or speakers. The nano-scale coating is so thin that it does not affect the mechanical response of these sensitive electro-mechanical components. In fact at 1000 times thinner than a human hair, it is not conductive at all. So it has no effect on the device's thermal or electrical characteristics. |
Is the coating hazardous or toxic? |
No. For example, the Aridion™ technology is applied to over 60% of the hearing devices produced worldwide. These devices spend a lot of time in contact with the users’ skin, as they get placed right behind the ear, or even in the ear with some versions. Before entering the hearing aid market, P2i undertook rigorous testing to ensure there were no adverse reactions or increased sensitivity when in contact with human skin. |
