Stephen Coulson, CTO & Commercial Director, and Justin Kleingartner, Chief Commercial Officer, have returned from a productive tour across the United States, visiting stakeholders in California, Michigan and Minnesota.
The trip focused on conversations with a wide range of electronics manufacturers, including companies in the hearing aid, drone and automotive sectors, about how best to protect increasingly complex electronic systems from liquid damage and corrosion.
Rather than promoting a single coating or process, discussions centred on our solution-based approach. This means starting with the customer’s specific challenges, whether reliability, corrosion risk, manufacturing integration or sustainability, and then drawing from P2i’s broad toolbox of capabilities to design the most appropriate protection strategy.
Justin Kleingartner commented: “Every electronics application has its own pressures and constraints. A particular solution may not be the right fit for every scenario. Our approach is to understand the specific problem first, then bring forward the right technology to solve it. Because we have a range of proven capabilities rather than a single technology, we can help customers avoid costly trial and error and move more quickly towards the right solution.”
Part of the journey also took the team to Anaheim, California, for the 2026 edition of APEX Expo – one of the world’s leading events for electronics manufacturing. While there, members of the United Electronics Coating Association (UECA) gathered for their latest meeting, hosted alongside the exhibition.
Stephen Coulson said: “UECA plays an important role in bringing together companies that are serious about advancing how electronics are protected. The discussions at APEX were particularly valuable because they focused on sustainable protection – how we improve reliability and performance while also thinking carefully about the environmental impact of the technologies we use.”
Alongside the industry discussions, the trip provided valuable time with customers and partners, strengthening relationships and advancing a number of ongoing commercial conversations.
With Justin based in the United States, P2i is well positioned to maintain close contact with customers across the region, respond quickly to new opportunities, and provide ongoing local support. We plan to return to the US later this year for further customer visits, alongside the next UECA meeting scheduled for November in Germany.
